Naval Simulators
A Naval simulator is a system that simulates ships and maritime environments for training
A Naval simulator is a system that simulates ships and maritime environments for training, research and other purposes. Today, simulator training given by maritime schools and academies is part of the basic training of maritime professionals.
At minimum, a maritime simulator consists of a software that realistically simulates the dynamic behavior of a vessel and its systems in a simulated maritime environment and an interface that allows the person using the simulator to control the vessel and interact with its simulated surroundings.
In case of so-called full mission bridge simulators, this interface consists of a realistic mock-up of the vessel’s bridge and control consoles, and screens or projectors providing up to 360-degree virtual view of the ship’s surroundings similar to flight simulators in the aviation industry.
Without the real-time visualization, the simulation software can also be used for “fast time” simulations where the vessels are controlled by autopilot.
In addition, we provide other type of maritime simulators like for ECDIS, Engine room, and Cargo handling operations.

PRODUCT
Mistral 4000 Simulation Line
The simulation system is based on the following main characteristics:
-
- High accuracy in the hydrodynamic modelling based on parametric model
- Realism in the ship manoeuvring
- Realism of the virtual scenario visualization in 3D
- Realism in the on-board systems
- Real type approved ECDIS and emulated real Radar equipment connected to the simulator for maximum operator realism
All systems are state of the art modern PC based simulation systems, specifically designed for the professional training at sea, recreating in the virtual environment all the realistic situations seafarers will face during their real professional lives.
Flexibility
Each training centre has different requirements and these requirements tend to change with time. Our training systems are designed in order to meet a wide range of requirements for equipment, hydrodynamic models and software functions.
By the use of simple and user friendly graphical interface, it is possible to assign specific role to the system consoles, create parallel training system (specific platform operator training) or integrate group training (team training or procedure training).
Expandability
Our equipment is easily upgradeable. Hardware and Software are developed using a modular philosophy to maximize the expansion capabilities and to minimize the time needed for upgrades.
Expansion capability keeps module individuality allowing its use either in an integrated form or independently from the other system components.
Functionality
Our systems are tuned to be utilized by operator with different computer knowledge, so basic operations can be achieved also from user with little computer experience.
Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Software and Hardware.
The philosophy of the systems is based on a networked distributed computer platform and few items of dedicated electronic hardware. Moreover, the simplified cabling between different sub-systems (internal block of the consoles) is of a great help in increasing the system flexibility and modularity. Maintenance is reduced to a minimum and can be carried out by any trained person with a basic knowledge of electronics.
System Capabilities
The Mistral 4000 Simulation System provides training for all levels of competence, i.e.:
-
- Basic training
- Intermediate training
- Advanced training
- Refresher training for qualified mariners and pilots.
The range of trainees covers different levels of college students as well as experienced seafarers, canal pilots, pilot trainees, tug operators, cadets, masters, etc…

Mars Line
MARS is a set of simulator systems which covers the needs of the navy training in terms of single, team, platform and multi-platform training. The modularity and flexibility of the MARS simulation line allows to design the specific system to match the training needs in terms of platform (surface, submarine, air unit) and single subsystem (Sonar, combat system, weapon station, ESM ECM, countermeasures, bridge, IPMS, ets).
-
- MARS allow training in different levels:
- Single operator training (es sonar, combat, radar, ew, etc)
- Single team training (es bridge, combat room, operation room, etc)
- Complete platform/platform team (es complete ship, complete submarine, etc)
- Multi-platform (es simulator composed by 2 ships, 1 submarine, 2 helicopters)
Mars line multi platform simulators have the unique advantage that a single simulators can be used for several training types (es single operator, teams), in different warfare domains (es AAW, ASuW, ASW), and capable of replicating generic or real systems. So one single system can cover a wide range of training needs and allows to maximize the system usage and the return of investment.
Different simulators (example sonar and combat) can working separately or working together to be able to create complex tactical scenarios involving more units (being all friendly or playing the classic scheme Red vs Blue )
Therefore the simulator capabilities, thanks to its flexibility and modularity, are very wide and can also be expanded (or improved with dedicated development, if requested) during the years accordingly the training needs and training scheme adopted by the Navy.

Firefighting
PRODUCT
Seafarer Firefighting Training Complex
The training complex is designed to train seafarers and auxiliary personnel on firefighting basic and advanced technique , to practices with different kind of fire and all different kind of fire extinguisher can be available on-board.
Single personnel training as well as team training is possible, not only in firefighting but also the structure allows to train on emergency evacuation and extraction of injured persons.
The complex can be customized according the available space and needs, typical layout includes:
-
- Water tanks area
- Broken pipeline training area(open area)
- Control room
- Ship Structure
- Fire tunnel training area
- External training area (water pool, several fire area also with inclined plane)
- Office complex for class training, offices, locker rooms, etc
The main ship structure replicates a real ship structure with 4 decks and relative compartments, accessible from outside and/or inside, with stairs that connect the compartments.
Inside the compartments, and outside the decks area, are present all the standard firefighting equipment (and also additional safety systems) that can be found on-board, some mock up of consoles and engine area, and electrical cabinets.
Real weight dummy can be placed inside the deck to simulate people extraction.
The students can experience with the different firefighting systems, such as:
-
-
- Sprinkler system
- Low and high expansion foams training device
- Hand extinguishers
- Connector for water hose (placed in the external bridge)
-
